What are Dental Exams?

What We Do

A dental exam can last anywhere from 15 minutes to about an hour, it can vary based on the state of your dental health, how often you visit, and the amount and type of dental issues discovered during the exam.

The dentist begins a dental exam by visually inspecting your whole mouth, including your gums, teeth, and tongue to evaluate their status and define any dental issues. 

The dentist will then use tools such as scrapers and probes to examine your teeth and gums in greater detail and determine the severity of any dental problems. An oral cancer screening will take place, as well as any oral hygiene tips, and a teeth cleaning will typically follow the exam.
